<p> Typical Specification SLC-SPEC-03</p><p>Typical Specification for Lochinvar-TiSun® Solar Thermal Collectors Models SLV030 and SLH030</p><p>The Collectors shall be a LOCHINVAR Model SLV______or Model SLH______glazed flat plate solar thermal collectors. The Collector shall be certified with the Solar Rating and Certification Corporation (SRCC) to standard OG-100-05. </p><p>The Collector shall meet or exceed the thermal performance rating for the SRCC “Clear Day” test standard (Category C) as listed below. SLV030 SLH030 28,400 BTU/day 28,400 BTU/day</p><p>The Collector shall be a Parallel Flow Absorption Plate constructed of an extruded aluminum alloy that is powder coated with RAL7019 Bronze Color. The Absorber shall be aluminum welded to the copper riser and will feature a 94% absorption rate and emissivity shall be .05%. The Absorber shall coated with a Physical Vapor Deposit (PVD) finish with a high selectivity. The insulation shall be 1.57” mineral wool insulation and has an R-value of 5.65. </p><p>The Collector glazing shall be Low-Iron Safety with less than 100ppm iron content tempered to comply with ASTM C-1948 specifications for heat treated glass, and ANSI Z97.1 and CPSC 16 CFR 1201 Category II break pattern. The glazing gasket shall be UV durable EPDM U-channel gasket with over-molded corners and no seams.</p><p>The Collector shall have a Limited 10 year warranty, 1-year on parts from material defect and workmanship. The Collector shall be suitable for use with propylene glycol, up to 50% concentration. The Collector shall have a maximum working pressure of 145psi. The Collector shall include a proprietary 10” stinger bulb-well that is to be immersed in the flow stream to accurately measure fluid temperature in the collector.</p><p>The Collector shall feature copper risers and headers shall meet DIN 17671 and shall meet or exceed requirements equal to that of Type M or Type L copper. The Header shall be 0.87” full hard coated copper tube per riser of 0.35” serpentine copper tubes. Copper tubing shall feature brazed junctions using approved brazing alloy for high temperature operation. The Collector shall be installed to complete forced circulation systems that are to be pressurized to 60 psi. Dry collector temperatures up to 412°F (211°C) shall not damage the collector. The Collector will have a Y-Intercept of .739 and a slope of -0.722 Btu/hr.ft2.°F .
