<p>Good afternoon everyone, </p><p>We wanted you to be among the first to know that the following announcement is now being posted on the BJA and OJP websites.</p><p>Attention Recovery Act Applicants: The Recovery Act Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Formula Program: Local Solicitation <http://www.ojp.usdoj.gov/BJA/recoveryJAG/JAGrecoveryLocal.pdf> deadline has been extended. The new application deadline is 8:00 p.m. ET on June 17, 2009. The Bureau of Justice Assistance, a component of the Department of Justice’s Office of Justice Programs (OJP), established the previous deadline of May 18 to encourage early submission of applications in an effort to provide economic stimulus as soon as possible. Because this is a non-competitive formula grant program, the extension of this deadline does not impact either eligibility or funding determinations.</p><p>By the end of the week, we will forward to all SAAs the promised list of the Local JAG applications that have been received to date. Thank you for your assistance in making certain that all eligible applicants know how to apply.
