My Five Senses Poem

By Sophia

I hear the birds chirping,

I hear the dew in the grass

I hear a squirrel climb up a tree,

I hear the deer jumping,

I hear the crows talk,

I hear the bugs chew

On the wood.

I see the birds flying

I see the dew on the grass

I see a squirrel collecting acorns,

I see the deer jumping

I see the crows feed their young

I see the bugs crawing,

On the wood. I smell the birds’ clean nest,

I smell the dew on the fresh cut grass,

I smell the acorns for the squirrels in the fall,

I smell the mother deer’s scent, so does her fawn,

I smell the crow’s dead animal breath,

I smell the bugs slime as they crawl

On the wood.

I feel birds nest move as they are chirping

I feel the wet dew in the morning grass

I feel the squirrel’s tail wind as it climbs up a tree,

I feel the deer’s strength as it jumps away,

I feel the crows tone as they crow

I feel the bugs slithering

On the wood.

I taste the sweet water for the humming birds,

I taste the dew’s moisture on the dandy lion

I taste the acorns that the squirrels left behind,

I taste the corn before I feed it to the deer,

I taste the blackness of the crows as they fly by,

I don’t want to taste the bugs slime left

On the wood.
