<p> Study Abroad Facts for Spring 2015</p><p>Please read all e-mails from [email protected] while you are gone!</p><p>Financial Matters:  The Comprehensive Fee will be listed as “IPO Comprehensive fee” on your Oxy bill.  In 2014-15, the estimated Comprehensive Fee is $30,486 + insurance (see below).  Financial aid applies during study abroad.  IPO pays tuition, housing, meals to our international program partners.  Some students may receive a stipend check from International Programs for meals and local transportation, if IPO cannot pay these fees directly to the international program.  Students plan and pay for your own international travel. Contact Financial Aid if you receive need-based aid. You may be eligible for an airfare grant.</p><p>Insurance In addition to your basic coverage, study abroad requires special coverage for the international situation (medical evacuation, repatriation of remains, etc.). Participants on IES, SIT, Arcadia, CIEE, CET, Antioch, DIS, UMN will automatically receive additional international medical and emergency insurance through the host program for the dates of the program. This insurance will be paid by IPO. Participants at Sussex, LDA, UEA, Melbourne, JCU, Pembroke and TIU will either be covered internationally on the 2014-2015 Oxy insurance plan or will receive an “extra” international package at no additional charge.</p><p>Course Registration for Fall 2015:  While abroad, e-mail your academic advisor for your PIN and registration time and register online from abroad at the designated time. Contact IPO at [email protected].</p><p>On Campus Housing for Fall 2015 : Study abroad participants can visit this Res Ed webpage. http://www.oxy.edu/residential-education- housing-services/current-students/study-abroad-participants More instructions will be available in early November - at orientation.</p><p>Academic Policies  All credit counts toward the Oxy graduation requirement – course names and grades will show on Oxy transcript and will be factored into your GPA!  All students must take a full load abroad, as defined by the program, unless prior permission has been granted.  Major/Minor/Core credit awarded with approval from academic department – Course Approval form already submitted.  Take different courses abroad? Complete a Post-Completion Request form upon return.  Oxy does not take credit for pre-professional courses (applied business, culinary arts, etc.) IMPORTANT: Transcripts can take up to 4 months to arrive at Oxy!</p>
