The course addresses key areas of civil litigation in the Sheriff Court.</p><p>THURSDAY 20 TH MARCH 2014 2pm – 4pm (ref 20/3/14PM) The Options Hearing – explanation of ordinary cause rule 9.12 which is included in the papers – class convened as Sheriff Court options hearing in which agents have been instructed by other solicitors – each member of the class shall be provided with instructions and shall make the appropriate submissions to the Sheriff – letters of instruction are included in the course papers – feedback. £45</p><p>FRIDAY 21 ST MARCH 2014 9am – 12noon (ref 21/3/14AM) The Pleadings – this seminar addresses both the science of pleading by reviewing the rules and the art of pleading in a practical exercise – precognitions shall be considered and class members will work individually, under supervision, in order to draw up an outline initial writ – comparison of classwork with amended record. £45</p><p>FRIDAY 25 TH APRIL 2014 2PM – 4PM (REF 25/4/14PM) A legal debate – presentation of a closed record – preparation for debate – who has to lead? – oral argument under supervision – review of decision. £45</p><p>These deliveries continue the essentially experiential approach to legal training, seeking to take you through practical experience with expert supervision.</p>
