<p> MSGNA Business Meeting Minutes</p><p>November 8, 2014</p><p>CMMC</p><p>Past President Janet Fogg</p><p>President Lisa Gwarjanski</p><p>President Elect Barbara Young</p><p>Secretary Linda Gondeck</p><p>Treasurer Sandy Masters</p><p>Director/Website Liaison Marcia Bouchard</p><p>Director/Membership Chair Judy Cartmel</p><p>Director Susan Chase</p><p>Director Cindy Ferland</p><p>Director Rosemarie Powers</p><p>Attending: Linda, Sandy, Barbara, Marcia, Rosie, Susan, Judy, Janet and Cindy</p><p>Secretary’s Report: Business meeting minutes of June 7, 2014 were read and accepted.</p><p>Treasurer’s Report: We presently have $ 17,218.80 (see attached).</p><p>Education Report: Spring conference will be March 21, 2015 at Maine Med</p><p>SGNA National Course is May 15-19, 2015 in Baltimore, Maryland</p><p>Fall 2015 Conference will be hosted by Maine General – Augusta</p><p>Spring 2016 Conference will be hosted by Pen Bay</p><p>Linda is working on setting up a Members Only Dinner meeting with the ERBE rep for December. No date set yet. </p><p>Website Update: Our new website is moving along. Aaron has agreed to continue being our Website manager for $200 per year. The cost of setting up our new website will be $800.</p><p>Legislative Liaison Update: SGNA is encouraging members to urge their senators and representatives to support the Removing Barriers to Colorectal Cancer Screening Act. Screening colonoscopy is covered under Medicare, but if a polyp is removed, the patient is required to pay a coinsurance. This is confusing to patients and deters screening. This legislation would eliminate the coinsurance Medicare beneficiaries are required to pay when a polyp is removed during screening colonoscopy.</p><p>Facebook Update: Judy is doing a great job keeping our Facebook page updated. She encouraged people to “like” our facebook page.</p><p>Membership Update: Non SGNA members were encouraged to join SGNA. Applications were available at the conference. The benefits of being a member were discussed.</p><p>Old Business: No volunteers for the Fall 2016 conference.</p><p>New Business: The new Martha Mita Educational Scholarship was announced to members. This scholarship will be used to help defray the cost of going to the SGNA Annual Course. Applications should be submitted via email to the MSGNA treasurer by January 1, 2015. Expenses will be reimbursed up to $1500.00 to the recipient.</p><p>Elections: Elections were held.</p><p>Lynne Bowden was elected Director.</p><p>Barbara Young, Judy Cartmel and Cindy Ferland were elected to the Nominations and Elections Committee.
