<p>Job Title and Job Description – Social Group Facilitator </p><p>Hours: 5 per month</p><p>Salary £20,849 Job Purpose  To facilitate social groups for survivors of rape, sexual violence and/or childhood sexual abuse to reduce isolation. </p><p>Duties</p><p>1. Social group Duties and Responsibilities  To facilitate and help to deliver a range of group activities in a safe and social way to meet the needs of women affected by rape, sexual assault and childhood sexual abuse (and/or their supporters)  To support survivors (and/or their supporters) in talking about their experiences, informally and without pressure whilst undertaking social activities  To demonstrate positive experiences of social engagement and interaction  To support survivors (and/or their supporters) in interacting positively with others  To motivate people in the group  To know and understanding of group dynamics and to put this knowledge into practice  To maintain client safety and confidentiality at all times</p><p>Experience  A Diploma or Degree in Counselling is an advantage though not essential  Experience of working with women affected by rape, sexual assault and childhood sexual abuse (and/or their supporters)  Experience of facilitating groups is an advantage though not essential  Demonstrate an understanding of the effects of rape, sexual assault and childhood sexual abuse</p><p>Skills Ability to:  Demonstrate an understanding of the needs of female survivors  Assess client needs  Work and co-facilitate a group with other team members  Communicate clearly and effectively  Work on own initiative and as part of a team  Initiate and maintain systems and procedures, including monitoring and evaluation  Prioritise and manage own workload</p><p>2. Training and Development a) Keep updated about rape, sexual violence and childhood sexual abuse issues. b) Retain self-awareness when working with clients. c) Monitor the personal impact of this work and to seek support, guidance and supervision, where appropriate. d) Receive support and informal (not clinical) supervision from the Head of Counselling and Wellbeing Services. e) Take part in an annual appraisal.</p><p>3. Supervision a) Attend and participate in quarterly group supervision. b) Keep a log of supervision attendance. </p><p>4. Self Management a) Work in a co-operative and team-based manner, respecting role boundaries but not in a rigid way. b) Prepare for and attend supervision and appraisals. c) Identify own training and development needs. d) Comply with all RSVP and BACP policies and procedures.</p>
