As there are many trips planned, the best way to communicate appropriate field trip behavior as well as field questions from students is in the classroom.

In light of recent events, we want to ensure that students are taught field trip behavioral expectations that are clearly defined, practiced and monitored.

Please take time to review the expectations, act them out, model examples, allow students to ask clarifying questions and monitor their success on the trip. The following day, please give them feedback on how well they followed the expectations.

For staff, please remember to do the following on a field trip:  Provide one certificated staff member per class as well as one adult for every 10 students (1:10). For CBI, the ratio is 1:4.  Supervise students at all times – traveling to the site, at the site, at mealtime, breaks and returning from the site.  Provide male/female supervision for male/female events.  Review “Marlton Field Trip Behavior Expectation” prior to and after each field trip.  Take a first aid kit.  On the bus on the trip, please distribute yourself so that supervision of all students is optimal.  Remember that we are responsible for the well being of all students and not just those in our class or in our immediate chaperon group.

Classified staff should see the supervisor of assistants to arrange your break and lunch schedules, if needed, on the field trip.

Thank you for your support with these expectations and we hope that our students and staff continue to be safe on all field trips.

Thank you,

Cara
