<p>Chabot College Fall, 2001</p><p>Course Outline for Computer Application Systems 54A MICROSOFT EXCEL® I </p><p>Catalog Description: 54A – Microsoft Excel® I 3 units Introduction to spreadsheet applications using Excel 2000 on the PC to create a variety of spreadsheets with emphasis on business application programs. Calculate data using functions and formulas, create charts, link and consolidate worksheets. Includes Microsoft Office User Specialist (MOUS) Level 1 Core Certification preparation. Strongly recommended: Computer Science 8 or Computer Application Systems 8, Computer Literacy or Computer Application Systems 50 Introduction to Computer Application Systems. 2 hours lecture, 2 hours laboratory.</p><p>Prerequisite Skills:</p><p>None</p><p>Expected Outcomes for Students: Upon completion of the course the student should be able to: 1. create a simple worksheet; 2. enhance, design and print a worksheet; 3. copy data and use toolbars; 4. name ranges and sort; 5. check spelling, find and replace data and manage files; 6. format text and numbers; 7. change fonts, patterns, colors, and formats; 8. use functions and advanced formulas; 9. work with dates, times, and financial functions; 10. create charts and maps; 11. enhance charts and worksheets; 12. work with multiple worksheets.</p><p>Course Content: 1. Simple Worksheets 2. Range Names and Sorting 3. Advanced Formulas and Functions 4. Charts and maps 5. Multiple Worksheets 6. Linked and Consolidated Worksheets</p><p>Methods of Presentation: 1.
