Wednesday August 19th, 2009</p><p>Attendance: Dave Sanders NW Natural Lynn Detering ODOT Dan Dooley ODOT Lanny Schulze City of Newport Tony Lejsek Charter Communications</p><p>Damages: Gary not present; no report.</p><p>Standards Report: We have no standards </p><p>Old Business: It was asked who had filled Gary Hyatt’s old position. No one knew for sure.</p><p>For the potential breakfast meeting, the gas grill from NW Natural could still be used.</p><p>Lanny had a training on June 30th, 2009 at the City of Newport. (didn’t attend last month so this was the update). Topic was the responsibility of locators and contractors within the right of way. Gary Hyatt agreed to do the presentation. 11-12 people attended the training.. Back of the meter facilities fall under the universal plumbing code. The city crews are not licensed plumbers, but can work within the right of way. If city marks the lines, they are liable. A new service from the City of Newport taps the main and then sets the water meter. </p><p>General discussion expanded to all utilities. Gas and cable are different in how they locate compared to city water lines. </p><p>New Business: Referenced the Attorney General’s letter on sewer laterals included in the Standards Manual.</p><p>Ken asked for ideas how to spend extra monies. Ken will order more green shirts. It was decided that more XXL & XXXL shirts. Perhaps increase quantity to 15 of each size. </p><p>Lynn Detering was introduced. She was hired to replace Gene Walton, who retired.</p><p>Dave thought the email address mailing list was not complete. I will look into that.</p><p>State report: Dave from NW Natural will attend the next Quarterly states meeting in Pendleton.</p><p>Projects: Waldport Starr St project upcoming. Millport Slough Bridge (Kernville). Lincoln City Drift Creek project. LC also repairing the MHs on hwy 101. Questions about the bridges between Toldeo and Newport, a “bundle” job.</p><p>Next Meeting: Wednesday September 16th, 2009 at the Spouting Horn.</p>
