Emphasis is placed on basic word attack skills, vocabulary, transitional words, paragraph organization, basic comprehension skills, learning strategies, and decoding skills. Emphasis is placed on vocabulary, comprehension, and reading strategies. Upon completion, students should be able to determine main ideas and supporting details, recognize basic patterns of organization, draw conclusions, and understand vocabulary in contest. </p><p>DPT.
