What do participants say about Barb’s Race?

Well, this will be my first Half Iron(wo)man! My friend, Kim Kamine, and I have been training with an alumni Barb's Racer, Kari Emerson, since February! We are so very excited and I hope that we are lucky enough to have you place the medal over our necks...as Kari did in '06! Looking forward to swimming, biking and running for the cause!!

Love, Lori (Morgan Hill, CA)

Thanks for letting me know. I had determined to run this for Cancer Charities after a friend found himself in the battle against brain cancer for the second time. I dedicated the race to him - now I will be dedicating my race to his memory. This past Tuesday he lost his battle and oddly enough the celebration of his life is on Race day! When I start the race, they will be back in Michigan beginning the ceremony.

All that to say...thank you for the work you do to beat Cancer and support the families currently going through such difficult times!

Blessings, David Droste (Vineman participant)

Thanks, Barb! The race was a challenging and awesome experience. . .Thanks again! Jamie Bunting

Thank you for putting on such a wonderful event for a great cause.

Best regards, Gigi

The race was great. What an incredible group of women and volunteers! Thanks for a perfect day. As for the shirt...I am a patient person. I will wear it proudly when it does arrive and plan to join everyone again next year! Take care, Jill Judd

As a first time participant, I just want to tell you what a wonderful time I had. You have an amazing event and I can’t even begin to say enough about all of the volunteers. I hope to be back many times. Thank you for everything you do to make this such a special event! Erika Cooper

Thanks! I had a great race and cut over 7 minutes off of last year's Ironman 70.3 Vineman race and it was windier this year. Also I am not getting any younger (now in the 50 to 54 age group). With the exception of puking my guts out after the race, I had a great race and a fun time.

Thanks again!

Sondra Westly

Many thank you's for being such a beacon of hope for all of us, survivors and athletic women of all ages. You are an incredible, inspiring woman. Finishing in your arms was so meaningful.

Much love to you. In gratitude,

Florence Debout (Cancer Survivor & 2008 overall Barb’s Race winner) Thank you. . .for such a fun, well ran, inspiring event!! Hope to bring our same group from Utah and see you all again next year. Renee'

What are the chances you can request cooler weather next year?

Besides the heat that I was not prepared for, it was such a wonderful event. It was well organized, well supported and everyone was so kind and friendly. I doubt I will ever have as memorable experience as I had at Barb's at any other race.

Thank you and the best of health to you. Teri Jones

Congratulations on the fundraising. And thank you so much for putting a personal face on it all. I would never have expected that in an event - especially as large as this one - that the volunteers could support you such that you felt like your mom was around every corner. I am confident that I would not have been able to finish like I did without the volunteers. Please tell them thank you a thousand times over for me! Denise Yates
