<p>Testing Interactive Health Commutation Systems: An Iterative Cycle of Usability and Quality Improvement Evaluation </p><p>Kuang- Yi Wen, Ph.D., Fox Chase Cancer Center </p><p>Dr. Kuang-Yi Wen, an Assistant Research Professor at the Fox Chase Cancer Center Philadelphia PA, will present her seminar talk entitled “Testing Interactive Health Commutation Systems Application: An Iterative Cycle of Usability and Quality Improvement Evaluation”. Dr. Wen is a health systems engineer PhD trained at the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering of University of Wisconsin - Madison focusing on the use of systems engineering tools and methods to develop innovative transportable solutions in individual and organizational change research. She also completed a National Cancer Institute’s Cancer Prevention and Control R25 fellowship at Fox Chase Cancer Center. Dr. Wen’s research centers on studying how health information technologies can be applied to improve patient-centered care through the application of interdisciplinary principles. Dr. Wen will present her work on employing a systematic and holistic evaluation plan that combined the strengths of three different usability techniques (heuristic, cognitive walkthrough, and user-based think aloud method) complementing one another in an iterative fashion guided by the PDSA concept for the development and evaluation of a web-based prostate cancer patient treatment decision multimedia program. In the context of this case study, Dr. Wen will demonstrate the application of their integrated evaluation plan and study lessons learned. </p>
