<p>Early Childhood Director </p><p>Job Description: Join a dynamic YMCA team dedicated to servicing youth and families in our community. The Director of Early Childhood is a key member to the Wardle Family YMCA team that is focused on empowering every child to achieve to be healthy, confident, and connected. This position requires a high energy, extremely organized, accurate, and passionate individual to implement vision for excellence in a new early child development program.</p><p>Under the guidance of the Operations Director, the Early Childhood Director will be responsible for maintaining state licensing standards, administration of staff hiring, training, supervision and evaluating performance, curriculum implementation, and budget development. The director will work closely with all child care affiliated groups including the School District Preschool Program, State Department of Health and Environment Control, the Office of the State Fire Marshal, Together for Beaufort Coalition, and more. The Director must be licensed to teach in the state of South Carolina. The Director must develop and maintain cooperative and supportive relationships with parents, staff, volunteers, and other agencies through written and oral communication, while upholding confidentiality. Candidate must maintain South Caroline DSS annual training requirements.</p><p>Bachelor or advanced degree in Early Childhood Education or related field with a minimum of two years working in a licensed child development facility is required. Preferably two plus years in a related programming/management role, experience in childcare management issues and classroom management strategies. Knowledge of early childhood development and education, and knowledge of South Carolina Child Care Licensing Law.
