This was proposed by Councillor Philips and seconded by Councillor Huckle.</p><p>05/01/076– Matters Arising</p><p>A replacement Clerk needs to be found with some urgency. Action: Clerk to put up poster in noticeboards and pub.</p><p>The BT Pole by Mill Corner – BT have again assured Cllr. Philips that this would be removed.</p><p>“Children Crossing” sign for lower village has still not materialised. Action: Cllr. Pursey to chase up.</p><p>Playground Equipment proposed by Cllr. Huckle for the Village Hall. Action: Cllr. Percy to find a contact for Cllr. Huckle to liaise with on Newport City Council. Tirzah Baptist Church Graveyard. This has now been strimmed. </p><p>Bus Service to Michaelston from Cardiff Bus Station. This service is not going to be discontinued as first proposed. A new contractor has been appointed and service will continue as normal. Action: Clerk to post link to bus timetable on www.Michaelston-y-fedw.com</p><p>05/01/077 - Police & Neighbourhood Watch Matters</p><p>There was no Police attendance so this could not be discussed.</p><p>Action: Clerk to confirm dates and times of Community Council meetings with new Police contact.</p><p>05/01/078 - Planning</p><p>Three planning application was received:</p><p>CONEX: 05/0927. Erection of Replacement Dwelling Neuadd Wen, Penylan, Bassaleg.</p><p>DECISION: No Objection</p><p>CONEX: 05/1228 Erection of Single Storey Rear Extension, Front Porch and Internal Alterations in connection with the use of Properties as a Single Dwelling. 3 & 4 Fairwater Close, Michaelston.</p><p>DECISION: No Objection</p><p>CONEX: 05/1229 Erection of Two Storey Side Extension, Single Storey Front Porch and Internal Alterations in connection with the use of Properties as a Single Dwelling. 1 & 2 Fairwater Close, Michaelston.</p><p>DECISION: No Objection</p><p>APPEAL NOTIFICATION:</p><p>A letter was also received notifying of the Appeal by Mr C Neil of West Lodge, Druidstone Road, Old St Mellons on the Replacement Garage and Store, which had previously been turned down by Newport Planning:</p><p>“The proposed building by reason of excessive height and bulk would not be subservient to the existing dwelling and would, together with the enlargements to the original dwelling on site, prejudice the open nature of the area of countryside protected as Green Belt, contrary to the provisions of the Policy CE1 of the Deposit Unitary Development Plan (Second Proposed Changes)”.</p><p>05/01/079 Roads – Hedges – Verges and Bridges</p><p>There was nothing new to add. 05/01/080 - Correspondence</p><p>Various Correspondence was received.</p><p>Letter of Invitation for the Community Council to lay a wreath at the Remembrance Day Service at St. Michaels Church.</p><p>. </p><p>05/01/081 - Finance Matters</p><p>As there were no signatories present the cheques could not be signed off.</p><p>05/01/082 - Meetings Reports None</p><p>05/01/083 - Chairman’s Business</p><p>There being no further business the meeting concluded at 8.20pm. The next meeting is to be held on Wednesday, November 2nd 2005. at the Village Hall, Michaelston-Y- Fedw. </p>
