<p>Byrd Ridge Crisis Center Report December 2016 Blessed are those who are generous, because they feed the poor. Proverbs 22:9</p><p>The month of December was a bountiful of blessings month! So many individuals and organizations choose to focus on BRCC to ensure families would have a blessed Christmas with food and clothing! </p><p>A special thanks to each and everyone who contributed during the month of December!</p><p>The following organizations focused on raising food for BRCC during their special events; 12-2-16 Larry Skipper Music Recital raised 518 pounds 12-6-16 North Wilkes Band Concert raised 95 pounds of cereal and a $5.00 donation 12-6-16 Wilkes County Cruisers donated $250.00 to purchase food 12-13-16 Staff of Community Alternatives purchased hams and trimmings totaling 165 pounds</p><p>In addition to these organizations, one individual who has a passion each year for the families to receive special treats throughout the entire month brought oranges, apples, nuts, potatoes, onions, carrots, and candy which ended up totaling 1,200 pounds. </p><p>Below are photos from the various events</p><p>North Wilkes Band Concert Larry Skipper Music Recital</p><p>Donation by Individual Community Alternatives Donation . </p><p>Statistical information for the month of December Families Served – 135 Total Number of Individuals receiving food assistance – 307( 248 adults 59 children) Average household income - $1149.41 per month Total pounds of food distributed – 5332lbs (2.66 tons) On average each individual would receive – 17.36 pounds First time visitors to the Center – 13 families</p><p>Food purchased in the month of December was approximately 1,564 pounds at the cost of $1353.40</p><p>Donated Food was in the total amount of 4174.5 pounds. Donations were received from the following; Baptist Home 285 lbs Mountain Valley 121 lbs Center Baptist 54 lbs North Wilkes Band 95 lbs Community Alternatives 165 lbs Peace Haven Baptist 177.5 lbs IGA Food Store Hwy 115 1,054 lbs Springfield Baptist 93 lbs Individuals 1,237 lbs Traphill Baptist 18 lbs Larry Skipper Music 518 lbs Union Baptist 357 lbs A grand total of 5,739.5 (2.86 tons) was received into BRCC during December</p><p>Budget Report for December Beginning Balance $1471.06</p><p>Receipts for December</p><p>North Wilkes Band 5.00 Wilkes County Cruisers 250.00 Individuals 370.00 Mtn View 50.00 Peace Haven 100.00 Peace Haven Special Offering 388.10 PHBC Special Offering 3,000.00 Walnut Grove 100.00 Donations received on Check from Stone Mtn Assoc Center 40.00 Springfield 300.00 Traphill 200.00 Union 150.00 Walnut Grove 100.00</p><p>Total Receipts for December $6524.16</p><p>Expense for December Just Save $749.01 Telephone Invoice $58.91 Other Food Purchases $604.39 Total Expense for December $ 1412.31</p><p>Ending Balance in December $5111.85 Clothing Closet Report The clothing closet is currently in need of more children size winter clothing ranging from newborn through size 18 for boys/girl. The majority of request we have for all sizes are blue jeans, socks, and tennis shoes. On average 60% of t he families who obtain food also obtain clothing. As a guide, please remember we do not accept clothing that has tears, missing zippers or buttons, or stained. Our goal is to provide the best we possibly can for these families. </p><p>As always, we encourage anyone to visit BRCC on any Wednesday between 8am and 10am. We encourage anyone interested in volunteering to come find your place in this outreach ministry. Anyone having events that you wish to promote please feel free to forward your materials via e-mail or drop them off at BRCC on a Wednesday morning. </p><p>If you have a donation to bring, please call Steve Hash at 336-838-8574 to schedule a delivery time to ensure a volunteer is at the Food Pantry to receive the items, or bring the donation during operation hours on Wednesdays 8am to 10:00am. </p><p>Respectfully submitted Vickie J.
