Temperature Controls Addendum #1 RFI Summary

Temperature Controls Addendum #1 RFI Summary

1. Are the DDC controllers factory mounted in the fan powered boxes or field mounted? The controls will be factory mounted supplied by the temperature control contractor. The High School Shop Drawings for the fan powered boxes have been approved indicating this, Middle School shop drawings have not been approved yet.

2. Is there are dirty filter status on the AHU's? No, this was not specified.

3. Some of the control diagrams do not show return air temperature, return air relative humidity, exhaust air temperature, however these points are called for in sequence of operation. Clarify. The mechanical drawings and specifications are meant to supplement each other. In case of an inconsistency, the most stringent requirement shall govern.

4. Where are pressure independent control valves required and not required? Refer to piping details for unit heaters, fan powered VAV, VAV, CUH, Hot water Coils and Chilled Water Coils on M-002 and M-003 in both school packages. Pressure independent valves are required on the hot water coils and not required on the chilled water coils. Detail #7 on high school drawing M-002 should be titled "AHU Hot Water Coil Piping Detail" not "Hot Water and Chilled Water".

5. Are there Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS) required for every DDC panel? No, a UPS is only called for under the Host Computer in the specifications.

6. Is a dedicated controller required for each system or can systems be combined on same controller? Systems would be allowed to be combined on the same controller.

7. Who is responsible for wiring the exhaust fans controlled by occupancy sensors, on/off switches, 120V cooling stats, manual wall timer switches, and kitchen equipment? The mechanical & electrical contractors for each school are responsible for making equipment that is not on the DDC system complete and operable including any associated wiring.

8. How many IP addresses are allowed to be used for the controls system? More than one IP address would be allowed (i.e. possibly one address per controller), however the exact quantity would have to be coordinated with the district IT department.

9. Is Dover intermediate school to be integrated through one BACnet IP address? A BACnet IP address would provide the data connection or “window” to the Dover Intermediate School control system.

10. Is a controller required for the cabinet unit heaters? Yes, as shown on the controls diagram.

11. There is a conflict between the training requirements specified in Division 23 and Turner's front end. Clarify the training requirements. Training requirements should follow the revisions in both specifications as noted in this Addendum.

12. A heat pump chiller and pumps HRCP-1 and HRHP-1 are referenced on the Middle School Mechanical Schedules and Middle School drawing M-501. They are not in sequence of operation. The Heat Pump Chiller and associated pumps were removed from both the middle school and high school projects. Disregard any reference to them on the drawings or specifications.
