
<p> PLACE LABEL HERE POST-RADIAL ARTERY CATH ORDERS Cardiac Catheterization Lab</p><p>The following orders will be implemented. Orders with a “” are choices and are NOT implemented unless checked. Initial all handwritten order modifications and the bottom of each page when indicated (multipage).</p><p>Follow the Catheterization Post-Procedure orders (form # 13217) with the following additions/exceptions:</p><p>1. TR Band Management After 20 60 120 min aspirate 3 4 5 mls of air q 10 15 min until compression balloon is empty. Remove band and check for hemostasis. Dress with occlusive dressing and a folded gauze over the puncture site Wrist Immobilization: Immobilize wrist x 6 hrs Patient may be discharged with immobilized wrist Bleeding Management: If bleeding occurs following removal, reapply TR band until hemostasis is achieved. Reinsert amount of air aspiration plus 1 ml and wait 15 min, then resume aspiration. 2. Observe radial site q 15 min while the TR Band is in place. Assess for hemostasis and brisk capillary refill in fingers. 3. Vital signs q 15 min x 4 with capillary refill check, then q 30 min x 4, then routine post hemostasis. 4. Bed rest until TR Band is removed. While on bed rest, head of bed may be elevated. Keep arm elevated 45° on pillow. Once hemostasis is obtained, may be out of bed after lying, sitting, and standing BP/HR are obtained. Assist patient with ambulation until stable. 5. Instruct patient to not use affected arm, rotate or move arm at the wrist for 6 hrs 6.
