Organised by the West Midlands School Travel Advisers (STAs) we want to encourage more young people to think about how they travel to school and the alternatives to the car, such as walking, cycling and public transport.</p><p>The Challenge is to produce a fresh and innovative campaign to encourage your school to go car free in favour of other greener, healthier and more sociable forms of travel.</p><p>The Challenge is open to all Secondary Schools in the West Midlands Region and should be led by a group of students such as the School Council or Eco Committee.</p><p>The project will promote Walk4Life and Bike4Life in support of the Change 4Life campaign. </p><p>Aims & Objectives (approx 100 words)</p><p>Schools have two weeks to ensure their school goes Car Free from the 10th – 23rd May 2010. </p><p>Once registered you have approximately 4 months to plan your Car Free campaign. You can be as creative as you like, however consider the following points: D:\Docs\2018-04-03\068b32766a426879e3087b7e0b3b2abe.doc </p><p> Does your campaign need a logo and strap line? How will you let the school community know? I.e. a marketing strategy utilising assemblies, school newsletters, e-mails, parent evenings, curriculum subjects, events and marketing materials such as posters, web pages, etc. What will be the most effective way to change how people travel to school? What does the whole school community mean? Can we get everyone involved? How can you get your teachers involved? Can you come up with a competition for your teachers? Do you need a budget to deliver your campaign?
