<p> Visual Poetry Project Due Date – </p><p>Step 1 – Choose a song  Song must be richly layered (It has real depth of meaning with thoughtful themes and several poetic devices included.)  Suggested artists – Mary Chapin Carpenter, The Beatles, Alabama, Coldplay, Toby Keith, Brad Paisley, Miranda Lambert, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Alanis Morrisette, Alan Jackson, Garth Brooks, Martina McBride, Pink, Alicia Keys, or an artist of your choice. SONGS MUST BE PRE-APPROVED BY THE TEACHER!  Songs must NOT contain profanity, sexual references, or extreme violence.</p><p>Step 2 – Complete a TP-CASTT for your song</p><p>Step 3 – Find images online that help convey the ideas and themes of your selected song. Your creation must be original. </p><p>Step 4 – Create a PowerPoint including the images and the lyrics corresponding to those images.  PowerPoint must be a minimum of 25 slides.  Each slide should contain an image and lyrics.  You must have the audio of the song included in the PowerPoint. </p><p>Step 5 - Answer the following questions and be prepared to present your responses to the class before you show your PowerPoint  Why did you select this song?  What poetic devices did you find in the song?  How do the images you selected reflect the tone of the song?  What are the major themes in your song?</p><p>Rubric</p><p>TP-CASTT – 50  All parts are thoroughly completed – 25 pts  Responses show depth of thought and demonstrate firm grasp of the following: titles, poetic devices and their effect, shifts, tone, and themes – 25 pts</p><p>Presentation – 100 points  Introduction to PowerPoint – 25 points -Thoughtfully addresses all questions contained in step 5 (15 pts) -Speaks clearly and audibly / makes good eye contact (10 pts)  Contains minimum of 25 slides – 25 points  Each slide contains an image that reflects the lyrics – 25 points  Each slide contains the lyrics as text (see it) and audio (hear it) – 25 points</p><p>(SEE CHECKLIST ON THE BACK TO MAKE SURE YOU HAVE COMPLETED ALL PARTS OF THE ASSIGNMENT!
