<p>English ______Miss Schulze</p><p>Welcome to English! With your active and full participation in this class, you can expect a rewarding year. Participation/attendance accounts for 10%, tests and quizzes 40%, homework 50%. 100-90 A 89-80 B 79-70 C 69-60 D 59-0 F</p><p>Class Website To assist in parent/teacher and teacher/student communication, I have set up a class website at http://www.nbend.k12.or.us/staff/MSchulze/default.html. (A link is posted on Snapgrades for easy access!) Weekly lesson plans are posted on the website, along with hyperlinked assignments and all of the weekly warm-ups. If you are absent, please check the website to get any assignments you may have missed. The website is intended to make you entirely self-sufficient to take care of your English class needs. If you miss class, lose an assignment, want to review what we did in class, would like to study the information given during a lecture, etc., you are able to do so using the class website. </p><p>Late Work Deadlines are deadlines and should be met. I understand that occasionally factors beyond your control may cause a delay in turning in an assignment. In such a case, get a Hardship Extension Request from me at least 24 hours in advance of when the assignment is due. You are allowed three hardship extensions a trimester.</p><p>If you miss an assignment because of an excused absence, you have the amount of time you were gone to make up the assignment. Those gone for sports or other school activities must turn in work in advance of the deadline if the assignment was given more than one day in advance of the absence.</p><p>You have one week to turn in late work for half credit. After this, late work is not accepted. This is in accordance with the English Department Late Work Policy. Homework turned in without a name will be posted for students to claim for reduced credit. Unclaimed work will be recycled after two weeks.</p><p>Testing/Cheating Tests or quizzes missed because of an excused absence may be made up. No makeup tests or quizzes are given for unexcused absences. If you are observed talking during a test or quiz, you will lose credit. Cheating and plagiarism are forbidden. A grade of zero will be given on assignments where cheating or plagiarism has occurred, and parents will be notified.</p><p>Behavior It is my expectation that students will be cooperative and hardworking. You can expect the same from me. 1. Come on time to class, ready to learn. 2. No food or drink, except water in a transparent container. 3. Do not interfere with others learning or my teaching. 4.
