<p> CITY OF MARQUETTE HEIGHTS CITY COUNCIL OF MARQUETTE HEIGHTS TAZEWELL COUNTY, ILLINOIS</p><p>February 27, 2012</p><p>PLEDGE </p><p>The City Council meeting was opened with the pledge of allegiance led by Mayor Dearborn.</p><p>CALL TO ORDER</p><p>The regular meeting of City Council was called to order at 7:00 PM on February 27, 2012 by Mayor Dearborn.</p><p>ROLL CALL</p><p>The following Aldermen were present for Roll Call: Alderman Bumbalough, Bradford, Salazar, Steele, and Bremer.</p><p>Also present were Mayor Dearborn, Treasurer Babb, Clerk Worent, and Attorney Tibbs.</p><p>Alderman Robbins and Engineer Good were absent.</p><p>PRESENTATION OF JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS</p><p>Alderman Bradford made a motion, seconded by Alderman Salazar, to approve the minutes of the Regular City Council meeting held on February 13, 2012. Roll Call Vote: Ayes – Alderman Bumbalough, Bradford, Salazar, Steele, and Bremer. Nays - none. Motion passed. </p><p>Alderman Bumbalough made a motion, seconded by Alderman Steele to approve the minutes of the executive session held on January 23, 2012. Roll Call Vote: Ayes – Alderman Bradford, Bumbalough, Bremer, Steele, and Salazar. Nays – None. Motion passed.</p><p>Alderman Bremer made a motion, seconded by Alderman Bumbalough to approve the executive session minutes held on February 6, 2012. Roll Call Vote: Ayes – Alderman Bumbalough, Bremer, Steele, Salazar, and Bradford. Nays – none. Motion passed.</p><p>Alderman Bumbalough made a motion, seconded by Alderman Bradford to approve the executive session minutes held on February 13, 2012. Roll Call Vote: Ayes – Alderman Bremer, Steele, Salazar, Bradford, and Bumbalough. Nays – None. Motion passed. CONFIRMATION AGENDA</p><p>Ordinance #802 concerning an intergovernmental agreement.</p><p>Alderman Bumbalough made a motion, seconded by Alderman Bradford to approve the ordinance concerning the intergovernmental agreement. Roll Call Vote: Ayes –Alderman Steele, Salazar, Bradford, Bumbalough, and Bremer. Nays – none. Motion passed.</p><p>REPORTS OF CITY OFFICIALS</p><p>Mayor</p><p>Mayor Dearborn read a letter of resignation from Kevin Wood, electrical inspector, effective March 15th, 2012.</p><p>Clerk</p><p>No report.</p><p>Treasurer</p><p>No Report.</p><p>Attorney</p><p>Attorney Tibbs explained the difference in wording for the referendum.</p><p>Attorney Tibbs reported the owners have been served on the house to be demolished.</p><p>City Engineer</p><p>Absent.</p><p>Communications</p><p>None.</p><p>CITIZENS WISHING TO ADDRESS THE COUNCIL</p><p>None.</p><p>REPORTS OF STANDING COMMITTEE Water and Sewer - Alderman Bumbalough</p><p>Alderman Bumbalough reported that well #6 is online.</p><p>Law Enforcement - Alderman Salazar</p><p>Alderman Salazar submitted the monthly Police Report for January.</p><p>Streets - Alderman Bradford</p><p>Alderman Bradford stated he had a copy of a depreciation list on the equipment.</p><p>Parks and Public Buildings - Alderman Steele</p><p>Alderman Steele discussed a bill for a door spring.</p><p>Fire - Alderman Robbins</p><p>Absent. No Report.</p><p>Finance/Planning - Alderman Bremer</p><p>Alderman Bremer made a motion, seconded by Alderman Steele, to pay bills totaling: $60,226.95 from General Fund; $0 from Motor Fuel; $12,863.35 from Sewer; $28,408.44 from Water, $0 from Wheel Tax, $0 from Audit; $0 from Insurance Liability, and $0 from savings. Roll Call Vote: Ayes – Alderman Steele, Bremer, Bumbalough, Bradford, and Salazar. Nays - none. Motion passed.</p><p>OLD BUSINESS</p><p>None.</p><p>NEW BUSINESS Purchase of new truck for Street Dept. – Alderman Bradford</p><p>Alderman Bradford made a motion, seconded by Alderman Bremer to table the purchase of a new truck at a cost of $123,297.00 for the Street Department. Roll Call Vote: Ayes – Alderman Bremer, Bradford, Bumbalough, Steele, and Salazar. Nays –none. Motion passed.</p><p>Approval of 2011 Motor Fuel Revision – Alderman Bradford</p><p>Alderman Bradford made a motion, seconded by Alderman Steele to approve the addendum to the 2011 Motor Fuel in the amount of $14,556.65. Roll Call Vote: Ayes – Alderman Bradford, Bumbalough, Steele, Salazar, and Bremer. Nays – none. Motion passed. Resolution #485.</p><p>Salary Resolution Amendment – Mayor Dearborn</p><p>Alderman Bradford made a motion, seconded by Alderman Salazar to approve the Salary Resolution Amendment. Roll Call Vote: Ayes – Alderman Bumbalough, Steele, Salazar, Bremer, and Bradford. Nays – none. Motion passed. Resolution #486</p><p>Mower Repair – Alderman Bradford</p><p>Alderman Bradford made a motion, seconded by Alderman Steele to approve the repair of a mower at a cost of $582.19. Roll Call Vote: Ayes – Alderman Steele, Salazar, Bremer, Bradford, and Bumbalough. Nays – none. Motion passed.</p><p>Greg’s Garage Door</p><p>Alderman Steele made a motion, seconded by Alderman Bradford, to pay $525.00 to Greg’s Garage Door. Roll Call Vote: Ayes – Alderman Salazar, Bremer, Bradford, Bumbalough, and Steele. Nays – none. Motion passed.</p><p>Storm Water Meeting</p><p>Post a storm water meeting for March 19th, 2012 at 7:00 p.m.</p><p>Hiring of New Employee</p><p>Alderman Bradford made a motion, seconded by Alderman Steele to approve the hiring of Linda Buhs at $12.50 per hour. Roll Call Vote: Ayes – Alderman Bremer, Bradford, Bumbalough, Steele, and Salazar. Nays – none. Motion passed.</p><p>CITIZENS WISHING TO ADDRESS THE COUNCIL</p><p>None. ANY OTHER BUSINESS PERTAINING TO THE CITY</p><p>Alderman Bremer made a motion, seconded by Alderman Bradford to go into executive session to discuss personnel at 8:45 p.m. Roll Call Vote: Ayes – Alderman Bremer, Salazar, Steele, Bradford, and Bumbalough. Nays – none. Motion passed.</p><p>Alderman Steele made a motion, seconded by Alderman Bremer to adjourn the executive session and return into regular session at 9:05 p.m. Roll Call Vote: Ayes – Alderman Salazar, Steele, Bradford, Bremer, and Bumbalough.
