<p> Career Project </p><p>Objective: To gain an in-depth understanding of the responsibilities, educational requirements, skills, costs, trajectories, potential need, salary and benefits of various careers.</p><p>Requirements</p><p>Part 1 – Day 1: Taking Two Career Tests & Summarizing Three Careers ______: Class will meet in the computer lab. Log on to the site: TEST 1: http://www.educationplanner.org/students/career-planning/find-careers/index.shtml and complete career cluster activity and which careers match your skills activity Then go to: TEST 2: http://www.yourfreecareertest.com/# ***after each test/activity cut/paste your results into google docs – this does NOT need to be shared with the teacher***</p><p>______:Once you have reviewed your potential career options, choose the three most appealing options and write three paragraphs describing the costs and benefits of each (one paragraph per career). This should be a general analysis and should not require additional research. These paragraphs should be saved on google docs and shared by the end of class. (10 points)</p><p>Part 2 – Days 2-3: Research Your Career & Complete Packet </p><p>______: One specific career will be chosen and you will do additional research on that career. All careers must be approved by the teacher before starting research. You have two days to research the responsibilities, educational requirements, costs, trajectories, potential need, skills, salary and benefits of various careers. (14 points)</p><p>Part 3 – Days 4-5: Create PowerPoint on Your Career </p><p>______: On the third day you will create a PowerPoint that showcases each of the 7 main topics you researched. The powerpoint must be completed & shared BEFORE class starts on Wednesday, February 10th (70 points)</p><p>Part 4 – Day 6: Evaluate Peer’s Careers ______: Each student will open their project. Each individual student is required to wander the classroom and complete an evaluation sheet on 6 possible careers. The evaluation sheets are due at the end of class. (12 points).</p><p>Rubric for PowerPoints: ______: 70 points (10 points per category): Each career factor is thoughtfully explained and supported with research from credible websites. When presented, the information should not simply be the answers to the questions but provide true insight on the career.</p><p> Responsibilities  Costs  Trajectories  Potential Need  Skills  Salary & Benefits  Appearance & Readability </p>
