Thanks for Considering BSA

Why Choose BSA? We are pleased that you are considering the Bridgewater Soccer Association (BSA) for your soccer player(s) travel team. If you are looking to give your son or daughter the opportunity to play with other highly skilled players, receive professional coaching and play for and against some of the best teams in New Jersey, then you've come to the right place.

BSA is a not-for profit organization that has been dedicated to youths of Bridgewater and Raritan for more than 35 years. BSA uses its own funds to make the cost of playing soccer less expensive than any other travel club that offers similar programs.

BSA teams play in various leagues depending on the team’s achievement including: Mid New Jersey, Mid-Atlantic Premier Soccer (MAPS), Jersey Area Girls Soccer (JAGS) and Region 1.

All BSA players play for free in the Annual “BSA Kick-Off Classic,” a premier fall tournament that attracts 150 teams and 2200 players from all over New Jersey.

Philosophy The BSA travel program constantly challenges players to realize their highest potential through training and competition. The goal of the travel program is to:

• Have fun and make the experience positive and memorable. • Enhance the player’s technical and tactical skills through a team environment so they can effectively compete in soccer at the high school level and beyond. • Develop a life long love for the game.

Trainers: BSA utilizes professional trainers for all of our travel teams. In addition, all U11 and above "A" teams are required to have a full time trainer for all practices AND games. While not required, almost all other U11 and above teams also elect to utilize a full time trainer. This gives our players the opportunity to learn soccer the right way, from a professional.

The key to BSA’s success is the quality professional coaching used throughout the program. We don’t just use one professional training organization, but utilize the top instructors from a variety of programs.

Dan Adams is an example of the quality of coaches found at BSA. Dan who is originally from Kent in England has been coaching in NJ for the past 11 years. He previously spent 7 years Teaching and Coaching in the U.K. Dan also has over 30 years of playing experience. He holds the UEFA “B” License, US “Y” License and NSCAA Advanced National Diploma. Dan not only trains teams himself, but he has been responsible for training many professional trainers in the local area. Dan is now working with many BSA teams.

BSA has many other highly qualified coaches such as Ray O’Hagan, former Head Coach at Raritan Valley Community College and the NJ State Open Champions, Go Soccer FC. Ray O’Hagan has coached boys and girls teams in the region for over 20 years and played semi-professionally in England. Ray also owns the Go Soccer Retail Store.

Having great coaches is only part of the equation. BSA has also developed an innovative training curriculum that is used throughout BSA. The BSA curriculum focuses on improving both individual and team play.

Club Success Over 90% of players on recent Bridgewater Raritan High School soccer teams, which are annually among the best in New Jersey, played in the BSA program. One BSA alum, played for the University of Maryland’s 2008 NCAA National Championship team. Others have become collegiate All Americans.

BSA Academy Structure
