<p>Message: Ephesians 5:21 – 6:9</p><p>What stands out to you from the service on Sunday? What is one thing from the sermon, Communion meditation or worship that you hope we discuss today?</p><p>What does the word submit or submission mean to you? Does it have a positive or negative meaning? How does that agree or not with how Paul meant it?</p><p>Husbands are to love their wives. How do you define love in this context? How does the Bible define it?</p><p>In a world where people don’t like the way they look, or their abilities, or even harm themselves, what do you think “no one ever hated their own body” means? How does Paul connect this to husbands and to Christ?</p><p>Paul quotes Genesis 2:24. Why do you think Paul connects this teaching about marriage, love & submission back to creation? Why is “leaving” important?</p><p>If you are, or have been, married, how did you practice the love/submit concepts taught in Ephesians 5?</p><p>As adults, are we still called to honor our parents? How is that similar or different from the command to obey while we are children? Why do you think God promised that life would go well if we honor our parents?</p><p>What does “exasperate” mean? How can we do that to our children? Was that done to us by our parents? If so, how do we forgive them as adults?</p><p>Verse 6 is about our integrity and doing the same whether others are watching or not. How are you doing in this area? How can we be consistent in our behavior? How can we be reminded that God sees everything we do?</p><p>If you are responsible for someone as a manager, parent, teacher, leader, etc., how do you avoid showing favoritism? Have you been in a situation where someone showed favoritism to someone else over you? How were you able to forgive them for that situation?</p>
