<p> CLARKE ELEMENTARY PTCO A Parent-Teacher-Community Organization MEETING MINUTES December 5th, 2016</p><p>The meeting of the Clarke Elementary PTCO was held at 5:30pm at Clarke Elementary. In attendance were 2015-2016 board members President-Carrie Benda, Secretary-Peggy Lundquist, Treasurer-Heather Kent, and Teacher Liaison Kim Schade.</p><p>Principal’s Update. Mrs. Kiger was in attendance. -On February 21st 4th and 8th grades will participate in required NAEP testing that will contribute to the “Nation’s Report Card” statistics. -Band and choir concerts have begun. -The playground project is still in the works but awaiting further decisions on district building usage.</p><p>Teacher Update. -Fran Christian was in attendance. -The third grade has their field trip to the Capital and Historical Museum planned, and they are also planning a trip to East Lake Park in spring. -Next year third grade will conduct Smarter Balance literacy testing. -In math, students are working on multiplication and division and using the Reflex program.</p><p>Committee Reports</p><p>Carnival. The date on the calendar is March 31st, which is two weeks after Spring Break.</p><p>Conference Food. None.</p><p>Scrap Crop. None.</p><p>Movie Night. Heather is planning the next Movie Night for January.</p><p>T- Shirts. None.</p><p>Yearbook. Peggy has contacted the AEA with questions, and is planning to start the book after Christmas break. </p><p>Vendor Fair. None.</p><p>Walk-A-Thon. The event brought $8303 profit. Ideas for next year included contacting businesses for participation and donations as well as contacting the CCDC for donations. 1 CLARKE ELEMENTARY PTCO MEETING MINUTES December 5th, 2016 Page 1 of 2 Other ideas for raising more funds were having a haunted house in the elementary hallways, or partnering with the Conservation Board for their Halloween walk at East Lake Park. Another idea was hosting a “Breakfast with Santa”. </p><p>Treasurer’s Report. Heather hasn’t yet received a balance from Central Office, but estimates $53,000 before commitments.</p><p>Field Trips. None.</p><p>PR. None.</p><p>Old Business. None. </p><p>New Business.
