<p>The Chair of the Faculty Senate (Richard Zack) was contacted by Interim President (Daniel J. Bernardo) concerning a proposed name change from the College of Medical Sciences to the College of Medicine. The change was being sought to allow the Board of Regents to consider and vote on naming the College for the late Elson F. Floyd, Past-President of Washington State University. In compliance with an MOU with the Provost, the request was passed to the Faculty Senate Executive Council, Steering Committee, and Faculty Affairs Committee, all of which voted unanimously to approve the change to College of Medicine. Faculty Senate approval of the change was communicated to Dr. Bernardo on 22 August 2015.</p>
