<p>NQF Ref 1550 Version 1 Page 1 of 3</p><p>National Certificate in Racing Broadcasting (Sound Operator) (Level 3)</p><p>Level 3</p><p>Credits 48</p><p>Purpose</p><p>This qualification is for people who are responsible for recording sound for racing broadcasting in a television outside broadcasting situation.</p><p>People will have the skills to prepare, set up a sound desk and video tape, record, playback, and mix sound for television outside broadcasting. People will also have knowledge of guidelines for health and safety; operational areas, and pre and raceday procedures; the structure and functions of the New Zealand Racing Board; and thoroughbred, harness, and greyhound racing and raceday operations.</p><p>All standards in this qualification are compulsory because recording sound for racing broadcasting contains a set of well-defined skills and knowledge that apply across all workplaces.</p><p>This qualification contains standards in common with the National Certificate in Racing Broadcasting (Camera Operator) (Level 3) with optional strands in Advanced Camera Operation, and Electronic Field Production [Ref: 1551].</p><p>On completion of this qualification people can progress to a range of generic business qualifications depending on their area of interest and career pathway.</p><p>Credit Range</p><p>Compulsory Level 3 credits 11 Level 4 credits - Level 5 credits 37 Total 48</p><p>Requirements for Award of Qualification</p><p>Award of NQF Qualifications</p><p>Credit gained for a standard may be used only once to meet the requirements of this qualification.</p><p>Unit standards and achievement standards that are equivalent in outcome are mutually exclusive for the purpose of award. The table of mutually exclusive standards is provided in section 7 of the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) Rules and Procedures publications available at http://www.nzqa.govt.nz/ncea/acrp/index.html.</p><p>Reviewed standards that continue to recognise the same overall outcome are registered as new versions and retain their identification number (ID).
