<p>Podcast Planning Sheet</p><p>Name(s):______Date:______</p><p>Directions: Complete the planning sheet and have it approved by your teacher BEFORE you begin creating your podcast. </p><p>Podcast Guidelines: o All podcast content must be SCHOOL APPROPRIATE and APPROVED by the teacher before production. o Podcasts should be 2-3 minutes in length. o All group members must have an active role in the production of the podcast. o All steps for creating a podcast must be followed in order to create the podcast successfully. </p><p>1. Write a short description about the content of your podcast.</p><p>2. Show your Ideas to the teacher for approval. ______(teacher signed= topic approved)</p><p>3. In the space below, write the name of each group member and what his/her responsibilities will be for completing the podcast project. </p><p>Recording Engineer- Talent-</p><p>Producer (script)- Lead Researcher-</p><p>4. Write a short script that will be needed to produce your podcast. Use additional an piece of paper for this activity. Get your teacher’s signature to show your script has been approved. This will be turned in at the end of the project. ______(teacher signature) *********A Rubric Will be Handed Out Next Week*********** Westward Expansion The changing of a Nation</p><p>After the War of 1812 cotton is king in the South, we have the Age of Jackson, trails west, the Texas Revolution, the War with Mexico, and the Gold Rush in California. Through this activity, you will focus on different events from this time period and examine how these events helped shaped the United States of America. </p><p>This project will be completed during the following week. We will spend three days researching and three days recording audio. Mrs. Vassuer, the media specialist will be helping us record the audio. You will be in groups of three to four people (no more than 4!). </p><p>You are going to pick an event from Westward Expansion and research the event to produce a 2-3 minute podcast. Research materials include: your book, the internet, books from the library, and worksheets you have completed in class. Make sure you follow the Podcast Planning sheet on the back of this paper. The final product to be graded will include a completed podcast, a bibliography, and a finish script. You will be graded on the quality of all components, and graded individually by group members. </p><p>Your finished product will include:  your podcast  a bibliography  your completed script. </p><p>The Process: 1. Get into Groups 2. Follow the steps on the back of this sheet. 3. Decide the jobs for the group 4. Pick an event from Westward Expansion to podcast 5. Research the event (use graphic organizer to help you organize your research) 6. Write a script for your podcast 7. Find pictures relating to subject (add to podcast) 8. Pick music for podcast 9. Edit and Revise your script 10.Record audio 11.Edit audio (add music, etc.) 12.Smile real big, because you finished your 1st podcast!</p><p>Jobs: Recording Engineer- Captures the highest quality of sound (Editing podcast, adding music) Talent- Reads the best he/she can Producer (script)- Makes sure the quality of the reader is great , edit/revise script Lead Researcher- Leads the research for the topic, responsible for quality of research. </p><p>************Everyone is responsible to research the topic****************</p><p>Planning Colander Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday</p><p>The recording process will go very well, if you are prepared. </p><p>This to remember before you record:</p><p>1. Read through your script. 2. Practice, Practice, Practice!!!!!!! 3. Get your music picked out and onto a CD. 4. Pick out pictures and save to a jump drive or copy down the website.</p>
