<p> Job Posting</p><p>LIFEGUARD / INSTRUCTOR – Part-Time</p><p>The Arbutus Club, one of Canada’s finest Private Family Clubs, is hiring a PART-TIME LIFEGUARD / INSTRUCTOR. We require availability for all hours/days, especially weekends, weekdays after 3:00 pm and 10-20 hours per week.</p><p>DUTIES:  The Lifeguard/Instructor is responsible for the safety and instruction of Club Members and Guests using the Aquatic and Spa Facilities during Swim Lessons, General Swim times and Special Events;  The Lifeguard/Instructor performs the very important task of being a first responder in case of an emergency and providing First Aid as needed throughout The Club;  The Lifeguard/Instructor also performs maintenance and related work, as required; and  The ideal candidate will enjoy teaching Swimming Lessons and working with children.</p><p>QUALIFICATIONS:  Applicants must have current National Lifeguard Service (pool option) certification, CPR Level C, Water Safety Instructor certification and AED (Automated External Defibrillator) and Standard First Aid and Occupational First Aid Level 1;  Successful candidates will have previous experience as a Lifeguard/Instructor;  Must possess sound knowledge of the rules and regulations governing safety in an indoor Aquatic/Spa facility’  A minimum of one year’s experience instructing the Red Cross Swim Program;  Knowledge and practice of Lifesaving, Lifeguarding, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and First Aid;  Demonstrated ability to handle a variety of service situations in a busy aquatic facility;  Candidates must have the ability to make decisions in an emergency situation; and  Pool Operators Level I, II or III an asset.</p><p>This position is part of the Bargaining Unit at a starting wage rate of $17.52 per hour. </p><p>Qualified candidates may submit a Resume, with a Cover Letter, referring to ‘Part-Time Lifeguard / Instructor’ position by March 15, 2015 to: The Arbutus Club c/o Human Resources Manager 2001 Nanton Avenue Vancouver, B.C.
