Ref: JHA/CTU/Christmas/12.12.16

12th December 2016

Dear Parent/Carer,

Friday 16th December 2016 – ‘Christmas Jumper Day’ and 1:25pm Finish Time

This Friday is the final day before we finish for the Christmas Holidays.

As in previous years, students will be dismissed from the academy at the slightly earlier time of 1:25pm on this day.

Parents and carers are advised that the canteen will therefore, not be open for lunch on Friday but will be open as usual serving our full, usual menu of hot and cold food at 11:25am. Students who have access to a free school meal will still be able to collect a sandwich at 1:25pm on this day.

If you require your child to be supervised until the regular finish time of 2:55pm on Friday 16th December, then please contact the main reception and we can make arrangements for this to occur.

Friday 16th December will also be our annual, non-uniform ‘Christmas Jumper Day’.

This is to raise money for the ‘Save the Children’ charity appeal. There will be a collection of £1 per student on the day in return for wearing their Christmas Jumper. It should be noted that this is a non-uniform day, so students can wear jeans/trainers or other appropriate clothing to accompany their Christmas Jumper.

As with all days of this nature it is important to stress that this is a non-uniform day and not a fancy dress day. Therefore, we would not expect to see students in Onesie’s, have festive decorations or anything else that is not in-fitting with our usual non uniform expectations.

Our Academy Newsletter, which contains some key information as well as celebrates some of our achievements already this school year, will be sent home with students later this week. The purpose of this letter is to inform parents and carers of our intention to release students early on Friday 16th December and indeed to promote our annual ‘Christmas Jumper Day’.

Yours sincerely, Miss J Halliday Director of Behaviour and Inclusion
