<p> History of The IIA and the Dallas Chapter </p><p>The Institute of Internal Auditors was established in 1941 and serves as the profession's watchdog and resource on significant auditing issues around the globe. As the world's leader in certification, education, research, and technological guidance for the profession, The IIA serves over 94,000 members in internal auditing, governance and internal control, IT audit, education, and security from more than 160 countries and territories. </p><p>On February 25, 1949, Dallas was established as the 30th chapter of the IIA. Those conferences include: </p><p>May 1954 – 13th Annual Conference June 1975 – 34th Annual Conference August 1985 – Southern Regional Conference June 1987 – 46th International Conference June 1998 – 57th International Conference September 2004 – Southern Regional Conference </p><p>The Dallas Chapter has one of the largest memberships of The IIA. Currently, the Chapter has approximately 1,270 members representing 30 out of 38 Fortune 1000 Companies in Dallas. </p>
