Colleagues who do not have a Higher Education teaching qualification and have at least two years teaching experience within HE are eligible to apply directly to the HEA for this recognition status. The university will also cover the £200 fee associated with this process.</p><p>Applications to become a Fellow (or senior Fellow) of the Higher Education Academy The HEA Fellow recognition scheme intends to professionalise teaching in Higher Education. The benefits of FHEA status are that: •It provides national recognition of your commitment to professionalism in teaching and learning in higher education •It demonstrates that your practice is aligned with the UK PSF •It provides an indicator of professional identity for higher education practitioners, including the entitlement to use post-nominal letters •It is a portable asset, that has UK-wide relevance and which is increasingly recognised by higher and further education institutions</p><p>Applications to become an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy This recognition status is suitable for staff supporting student learning, these could include those in Careers, Disability, Library, etc. Colleagues may be eligible to apply directly to the HEA for this recognition status. The university will also cover the £100 fee associated with this process. The AFHEA recognition scheme intends to professionalise all learning and teaching support in Higher Education.
