US Government Spring 2008 Final Exam

US Government Spring 2008 Final Exam

Option 1: The Federal Government in Saint Paul Due Monday, May 19

To help celebrate Minnesota’s 150th birthday, through Sunday, May 18, one of the original copies of the Declaration of Independence printed on July 4, 1776 is on display at the Minnesota Historical Society.

Your opportunity for this final exam is to take a fieldtrip to Saint Paul to see the Declaration of Independence and several additional aspects of the Federal Government in action. If you choose this option for the exam, go to the wiki under “Assignments” and click on “Final Exam.” Under “Option 1” you will find a map and copies of your directions and the questions you will answer on your fieldtrip.

Tips: 1. Watch the film on the Declaration of Independence before you go (bonus op!) See the wiki for the “Film” link and directions. 2. The hours of the Declaration of Independence on display are: * Tuesday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. * Wednesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. * Sunday, noon to 5 p.m. 3. The grounds of the capitol are always open but I would recommend visiting them before 7:30 p.m. (sunset). 5. Meters in St. Paul are the cheapest way to part, they are the only expense you may incur as part of this assignment. There are meters on John Ireland Blvd. (running from the History Center to the Capitol – see your map).
