<p>KEY TO NISSAN PART NUMBERS</p><p>The first two digits of Nissan part numbers give an indication of which bit of the car they are for. The following is a rough guide to the commonly used areas:</p><p>00-08 Nuts, screws, washers and bolts(except specialist applications) 10-15 Engine parts. 16-17 Fuel(carbs.,tanks,pipes,filters). 18 Engine control. 20 Exhaust. 21 Cooling 22 Ignition 23-27 Electrical 30 Clutch. 32-34 Transmission. 36 Handbrake. 37 Propshaft. 38 Differential 40 Front axle. 41 Front brake. 43 Rear axle. 44 Rear brake. 46-47 Brake master cylinder and brake pipes. 48 Steering. 54 Front suspension. 55 Rear suspension. 56 Shock absorbers. 60-66 Front body parts including bumper. 72 Windscreen area. 73 Roof. 74 Floor. 76 Body side parts. 78-79 Rear body parts. 80-82 Doors and associated parts. 84 Hatch. 85 Rear bumper. 86-88 Seats. 93 Rear body parts. 98 Some emblems (others may have part numbers associated with the region to which they are attached).</p><p>On the MJP Parts List there are some deviations from these rules, for example: 16- includes pattern body panels. 16-35- are 240/260Z parts, 16-36- are 280ZX parts, 16-60- are 300ZX Z31 parts and 16-70- are 300ZX Z32 parts. -0 parts are not handed, usually -l parts are left hand and -2 parts are right hand. U.S. import parts have a different numbering system and are scattered throughout the list but have a six digit part number, such as 10-2001: 10 TO 17 Engine, 20 TO 21 Transmission, 23 Suspension, 24 Brake, 30 TO 32 Body, 33/34 Electrical, 40/45 Interior, 50 Custom goodies and body kits, 60 Tools, 80 Adhesives. Alphabetic part numbers are at the end of the list and include mostly pattern parts and specials, custom options, the Origin camera detection system with some Nissan additions. Note that the list now also includes parts for S12 Silvia, S13 and S14 200SX models, N14 GTi-R, some Skyline models and, of course, the new 350Z.
