<p> 8th ANNUAL SERVICE ENGAGEMENT SUMMIT CALL FOR PROPOSALS</p><p>The Indiana Campus Compact Service Engagement Summit is our signature event which provides our members the opportunity to hear the brightest speakers, participate in the most thought-provoking and useful workshops, and create programming that will have a lasting impact on our society for years to come. </p><p>We will focus on the role of social justice in higher education through the lens of power, privilege, and the coming together of communities. We seek proposals for presentations on Tuesday, February 27, 2018, that reflect that focus for the 7th Annual Service Engagement Summit, which will be held in Indianapolis, IN, February 26-27, 2017. </p><p>We seek the following session types:</p><p> Workshop/Interactive Presentation – 50 minutes. May be an individual presenter or a group presentation. Presenters should be prepared to offer dynamic presentations related to higher education’s role in social justice, which will encourage creative thought and discussion, followed by a structured set of facilitated activities for audience participation.  Poster presentation – 50 minutes. Attendees are free to move about the room and examine posters and talk individually to the authors. The free-standing posters should use data, text, and images/figures to describe the research or project related to higher education’s role in social justice. All posters need to be posted on a 36x48 tri-fold board that will stand on the table provided to you. During the 50 minute poster session, please plan to narrate your poster to interested attendees in order to facilitate discussion and networking. Poster presenters may bring supporting material to distribute to attendees.</p><p> Roundtable Resource Exchange – 15 minute discussion, repeated three times within a 50 minute session allowing participants to rotate through best practices and resource sharing. This informal format is an opportunity to share innovative research activities, teaching techniques, curriculum designs, syllabi, or training manuals. We request that presenters bring resources for attendees including handouts, brochures, or display copies of manuals. </p><p>Who should submit:  Upper level administrators (Department Chairs, Deans, Provosts)  Faculty  Staff  Graduate Students  Undergraduate Students  Community partners</p><p>Submissions should include:  Presentation type  Secondary choice for presentation type  Presentation Title</p><p> Presenter(s) information (name, professional title – if student, please list major or program, institution, and email address)  Abstract (not to exceed 300 words)  Session description for program (no more than 75 words)  Please address your learning outcomes for the audience in your abstract by including and finishing the sentence, “After attending this session, participants will…”  Please consider your learning outcomes when you choose your intended audience below – please check no more than two. o Upper level administrators o Faculty o Professional Staff o Students o Community Agency Directors/Staff</p><p>Deadline for submissions: November 16, 2017</p><p>Submit online https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/6L2RML7 </p><p>Presenters will be notified of acceptance: December 15, 2017</p><p>Please direct questions to Liza Blomquist, Indiana Campus Compact Director of Communication and Outreach at [email protected] or 317-274-6500.</p>
