Feel free to share the text below with any 1/C Parents in your Club who may be interested in publishing a graduation announcement (note: this text was prepared as a helpful resource for parents and is not a required format for graduation announcements):</p><p>"U.S. Navy Ensign/U.S. Marine Corps Second Lieutenant {First Name Middle Initial Last Name}, son/daughter of {parents’ name}, graduated from the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD on {graduation date} and was commissioned as an Officer in the U.S. Navy/U.S. Marine Corps. Ens. /2nd Lt. {Last Name} successfully completed four years of intensive academic, physical, and professional training, resulting in a Bachelor of Science Degree with a major in {academic major}. The mission of the United States Naval Academy is to develop midshipmen morally, mentally and physically for the privilege of serving as leaders of Sailors and Marines who have volunteered to serve our country. Following graduation, Ens. /2nd Lt. {Last Name} has been assigned to {ship/school} where he/she will {continue studies/training in ______} and then proceed to {home port/duty station} where he/she will begin service aboard/with {ship/command}.</p><p>Considered one of the top educational institutions in the country, the U.S. Naval Academy was founded in 1845 and has graduated more than 77,000 men and women as Naval and Marine Corps Officers.
