Climbs to the outlines Zion Canyon 0.4 mi/ 1 24 m of several prehistoric buildings. Trailside exhibits. Visitor Center 0.6 km Lower Emerald Pool Minor drop-offs. Paved trail leads to the Lower 1 hour 69 ft / Trail Emerald Pool and waterfalls. 5 1.2 mi/ 21 m Zion Lodge 1.9 km The Grotto Trail The trail connects the Zion Lodge to The Grotto. Ends at viewpoint of the Towers 2 hours 368 ft/ Zion Canyon of the Virgin, lower Zion Canyon, and Springdale. 1 3.3 mi/ 112 m Visitor Center 4.3 km Commercial horse trail from March to Sand Bench Trail 5 hours 466 ft/ October. Hike atop a massive landslide under Zion Lodge 7.6 mi/ 5 142 m The Sentinel. Deep sand and little shade. 12.2 km Upper Emerald Pool 1 hour Minor drop-offs. A sandy and rocky trail that climbs 200 ft/ to the Upper Emerald Pool at the base of a cliff. No Trail 1 mi / 5 61 m swimming is allowed. Zion Lodge 1.6 km Closed temporarily due to rockfall. Follows the Middle 3.5 hours 450 ft/ Kolob Taylor Creek Trail Fork of Taylor Creek past two homestead cabins to 5.0 mi/ 137 m Canyons Kolob Canyons Road Double Arch Alcove. 8.0 km Closed temporarily. Follows a ridge to views of Timber Creek, Kolob Timber Creek 0.5 hour 100 ft/ Kolob Terrace, and the Pine Valley Mountains. Overlook Trail 1 mi/ Canyons 30 m Kolob Canyons Road 1.6 km Closed temporarily. Strenuous Angels Landing 4 hours 1488 ft/ Long drop-offs. Not for young children or anyone fearful of heights. Last section is a via West Rim Trail 5.4 mi / 453 m 6 route along a steep, narrow ridge to the summit. The Grotto 8.7 km Long drop-offs. Not for anyone fearful of Hidden Canyon Trail 2.5 hours 850 ft/ 2.4 mi/ 259 m heights. Follows along a cliff face to the 7 Weeping Rock mouth of a narrow canyon. 3.9 km Observation Point 6 hours 2148 ft/ Long drop-offs. Climbs through Echo Canyon to viewpoint of Zion Canyon.
