<p> Careers at RNIB | Make every day better Film Transcription</p><p>Speaker 1 I felt a little bit reticent about working for a blind charity. </p><p>Speaker 2 I hadn’t really heard of RNIB; I just didn’t know what it was.</p><p>Speaker 3 Before I started at RNIB, I was a radio student.</p><p>Speaker 4 I think the thing I like the most about my job is that I can actually see the difference that my team are making.</p><p>Speaker 5 I hadn’t considered working for RNIB Cymru. I’m partially sighted myself, and it’s something I hadn’t thought of.</p><p>Colin My name is Colin. Before I joined RNIB, I worked as a pastry chef.</p><p>Cake is ready</p><p>I work as a finance assistant within fundraising. At catering college, one of the modules used to cover finance and I acquired a flair for accounting.</p><p>Ginny (speaker 4) My name’s Ginny Tyler. Primarily, my job is to manage the services that RNIB provides to children with complex needs and learning disability, and visual impairment. We have people who have been with us now for many years, but originally were gardeners, or worked in Tesco on the checkout. They become very good care workers, because they come with a huge enthusiasm.</p><p>RNIB – supporting people with sight loss RNIB charity numbers 226227, SC039316 and 1109 Vanisha (Speaker 2) My name is Vanisha. Before working at RNIB, I was working in a call centre. I was volunteering here for a year. I was then offered a permanent position as a HR Administrator.</p><p>Hugh (speaker 1) I’m Hugh Huddy. I worked in the Policy and Campaigns Team. The thing that makes me most proud is having been part of the Losing Patients Campaign for accessible health information, and we actually got a change in legislation.</p><p>Hannah (speaker 5) I’m Hannah Rowlett, and as a Digital Skills Officer, I support blind and partially sighted people to use digital technology and to get online. From when we first go and meet somebody, they’re very unconfident; they go from, “I’m never gonna do this”, to “Guess what I did last week?” That’s something that never gets boring.</p><p>John (speaker 3) My name is John Wakefield. My job now is an Audio Producer for RNIB’s Talking Book Service, where we make audio books. We work with some of the best actors in the country, providing this great service.
