<p> MINUTES</p><p>STATE BOARD OF EXAMINING ENGINEERS</p><p>DATE: August 16, 2005</p><p>TIME: 10:00 a. m.</p><p>PLACE: 500 North Calvert Street 3rd Floor Conference Room Baltimore, Maryland 21202-3651</p><p>PRESENT: Thomas Henderson (Chairman) Gregory Restivo Charles Graham</p><p>OTHERS PRESENT: Jack Lesho, Executive Director Brenda Clark, Administrative Secretary</p><p>CALL TO ORDER: Thomas Henderson called the meeting to order at 10:10 a.m. </p><p>APPROVAL OF MINUTES:</p><p>Motion (l) was made by Mr. Graham and seconded by Mr. Restivo to approve the Minutes of the July 19, 2005 meeting without any corrections. This motion passed by a unanimous vote. </p><p>OLD BUSINESS:</p><p>Mr. Restivo Informed the Board that John Frasca, Chief Engineer and Tim Bagrowski, Safety Inspection Unit was not available to attend this Business Meeting, that the packet of information that was to be reviewed pertaining to the test bank of questions will be tabled until the September Business Meeting. </p><p>NEW BUSINESS:</p><p>Mr. Lesho relayed to the Board that PSI, the testing vendor has requested to meet with them in October to review the new test bank of questions in preparation of updating the examination for the creation of the new State Board of Stationary Engineers.</p><p>The Board reviewed the statistical summary report from PSI, the testing vendor on the examination updates of total examinations, passers and failures for June and July, 2005. </p><p>1 Mr. Graham was pleased to inform the Board that he has became aware of two colleges that now offer courses for stationary engineers, though the Board is not involved in recommending specific learning facilities for Stationary Engineering, the Board recognizes that these are steps in the right direction, a great opportunity for individuals interested in entering the field. </p><p>APPLICATION APPROVALS:</p><p>The following applicants were been approved for the 1st grade examination.</p><p>Charles Anderson Calvin Anderson Dean Appel Mark Baran Ronald Bates Sr. George Brunk Kevin deCourcy Steven Hooke Clark Justus Jr. Alex Kirkpatrick Michael Martin Charles Mens Michael Olson Kevin Paige Jeffrey Rodgers Joseph Russell Matthew Ruszala Richard Smith Rotimi Soetan Michael Stewart </p><p>The following applicants were approved to sit for the 2nd grade examination.</p><p>Horace Baker Martin Bright Mounir Chakir Timothy Christiano David Gilotty James Healy Brenda Knopp Robert Lang Xan Luu Jermarl Sessoms </p><p>The following applicants were approved to sit for the 3rd grade examination.</p><p>George Berbakos Jamey Huls Anthony McBee Patrick Schuler Sr. </p><p>APPLICATION DENIALS:</p><p>The Board denied an applicant to sit for the 1st grade examination because the section on the application requiring the signature of the supervisor was not properly signed by the supervisor. </p><p>The Board denied an applicant to sit for the 2nd grade examination for not having the required twenty-four (24) months working experience under the supervision of a licensed 1st grade engineer.</p><p>The Board denied an applicant to sit for the 2nd grade examination for not having the required section of the application completed with a signature of a licensed 1st grade engineer. </p><p>ADJOURNMENT:</p><p>2 Motion (II) was made by Mr. Graham seconded by Mr. Restivo and unanimously carried by the Board to adjourn the Examining Engineers meeting at 10:50 a.m.</p><p>______With corrections</p><p>______Without corrections</p><p>______Thomas Henderson, Chairman Date</p><p>3</p>
