<p> Return back to school on Friday, December 11.</p><p>Christmas Letters learned so far: Aa, Mm, Ss, Pp, Tt, Ii, Nn, Cc Letter on back. Sight words learned so far: am, I, the, we, see, can, like, see, a, go, to, have</p><p>New Letter: Oo New Sight Word: Is </p><p> Monday, December 7—Reading: Have your child read, “We Go, I Have, and I Have To” booklets to you. Ask your child what the author does. Then ask them what the illustrator does. Every time you see one of these booklets, have your child read it to you daily. If they have been studying their sight words, they should be able to read it with no problems. (Practice every day) Have your child work on Lexia for NO more than 30 min. at a time. </p><p> Wednesday, December 8—Math: Geometry. Be sure your child knows the shapes below. They will be tested on them next week. Draw a picture using 5 of these shapes in the picture. Label the pictures. Read booklets from Monday. Work on Lexia website. </p><p> square circle triangle rectangle cube sphere cylinder cone</p><p> Wednesday, December 9— Math: Have your child orally count to 60. Play a game with your child. Name a number for your child to begin from and count on to 60. For example, you say 15 and your child has to begin counting from 15-60. Have your child write their numbers to 15. They will be tested on them next week. Read booklets from Monday. Work on Lexia website.</p><p> Thursday, December 10—Phonological Awareness: Rhyming Words. You say a word. Then your child says a word that rhymes with your word. For example, you say, “Hat.” Your child says, “Cat.” Have your child name two or more words that rhyme (e.g., sat, fat, mat, and rat). Keep playing using different words. Have your child give you a rhyming word for each of the following words then have your child write the word and new rhyming word: man, tip, pot, pat, mop, fin (Read booklets from Monday) Work on Lexia website. </p><p> Friday, December 11-- Bring something to “Show and Tell” that begins with the letter “O.” Parents you may now login to www.lexiacore5.com from home and allow your child to complete their Lexia levels at home. Please give them little guidance if it is needed but please don’t allow siblings to do the work for them. If you see a red apple at the bottom left-hand corner of the screen, that means they are having trouble with the lesson. That will be the time you will need to assist them.
