<p> Chinese Bridge Summer Camp for American High School Students</p><p>July 15 to July 31, 2015</p><p>Sponsor</p><p>Hanban (Office of Chinese Language Council International)/Confucius Institute</p><p>Mission</p><p> To promote communication between the youth of China and the United States.</p><p> To enhance the understanding of Chinese language and culture.</p><p> To stimulate U.S. High school students’ interest in learning the Chinese language.</p><p>Itinerary (Beijing Time)</p><p> July 16: Arrive in Beijing and check in.</p><p> July 17: Take culture actives in Beijing.</p><p> July 18 - 27: Travel to different provinces/cities in groups; Take Chinese language and culture classes, communicate with Chinese students and their families.</p><p> July 28 - 30: Back to Beijing, and take culture activities.</p><p> July 31: Travel to and arrive in the U.S.</p><p>Activity theme and visiting provinces/cities</p><p> Discover China-Chinese History, Shandong and Zhejiang; </p><p> Discover China-Chinese Ethnic Minorities, Jilin and Guangxi;</p><p> Discover China- Folk Arts, Beijing, Heilongjiang and Jiangsu;</p><p> Discover China- Chinese Kung Fu, Henan. Qualifications for Students</p><p> Currently enrolled in grade 9-12 at accredited public or private high school, aged between 14-18 (including students who will graduate from high school before the summer camp and those who will be enroll in grade 9 after the summer camp).</p><p> US citizens.</p><p> No Chinese learning background and less than three years of Chinese learning experiences. </p><p> Have great interest in Chinese language and culture</p><p> Physically and emotionally capable of international travel.</p><p> Have willing to participate in all summer camp activities and comply with requirements.</p><p> Student applicants must submit their applications, personal application letters and letters of recommendation from schools and/or teachers to the Confucius Institute before March 12.</p><p> Chaperones: please complete the applications and submit the forms and your resume to Confucius Institute before March 12.</p><p> Due to limited enrollment, no late application will be accepted. $300 deposit will be needed when submitting the application.</p><p> Applicants will be notified of their status by early April.</p><p>Support Services from Confucius Institute at KSU</p><p> Registration.</p><p> Program orientation.</p><p> Visa application.</p><p> Group international airline ticket reservations to insure seating and lowest possible fare.</p><p>For further information</p><p>Please contact Ms. Dongmei Liao</p><p>470-578-2646 or Email at [email protected]</p>
