<p> MANAGER: LEGAL SERVICES</p><p>All-inclusive package: R657 558 per annum Ref: No: ITAC 12/2017</p><p>Overview: To provide professional legal services to ITAC </p><p>Mandatory requirements: The applicant must be in possession of a four year law degree (preferably with an elective or Masters in International Trade Law). Experience in the areas of: civil and criminal litigation, preferably international trade law, economic regulation, corporate law. Knowledge in interpretation of statutes, administrative law as well as clear knowledge and understanding of different legislative prescripts; legal procedures as well as contract drafting; understanding of government processes; and compliance management. </p><p>Key Responsibilities: The successful applicant will be required to:</p><p> Provide advice and opinions on the International Trade Administration Act 71 of 2002 as well as relevant domestic trade legislation and South Africa’s international trade obligations and policies. Provide legal input to bilateral, regional and multilateral negotiations pertaining to trade remedy, tariff and import/export control aspects. Provide legal advice and support to the Commissioners and line support functions of ITAC. Assist Senior Managers in dealing with all litigation conducted by and against ITAC. Assist the Senior Manager: Legal Services to review legislation, policies, guidelines and procedures relating to ITAC’s core business and corporate services governance obligations under the PFMA and other related legislation. Provide technical legal support to the drafting of subordinate legislation, policies, directives and guidelines. Maintain ITAC’s legal compliance and contribute to the monitoring of legal risks. Drafting and negotiation of contracts and assisting with the maintenance of a contract register. Supporting the Senior Manager: Legal Services in the administration of the Legal Services Unit. Provide research support and maintaining the legal library resources (electronic and hard copy).</p><p>ITAC is an equal opportunity employer.
