<p>NZQA registered unit standard 21803 version 2 Page 1 of 3</p><p>Title Demonstrate knowledge of terms and transport types used in the international freight forwarding industry</p><p>Level 3 Credits 4</p><p>Purpose People credited with this unit standard are able to:  explain terms and abbreviations used in international freight forwarding;  explain types of transport services used in the international freight forwarding industry.</p><p>Classification Logistics > Freight Forwarding</p><p>Available grade Achieved</p><p>Explanatory notes</p><p>1 Legal and formal requirements to be complied with include: International Air Transport Association (IATA) Regulations; International Federation of Freight Forwarders (FIATA) Policies.</p><p>2 For the purposes of assessment against this unit standard, any new, amended, or replacement legislation, regulations, Rules, standards, and codes of practice affecting the outcome of this unit standard will take precedence, pending review of this unit standard.</p><p>Outcomes and evidence requirements</p><p>Outcome 1</p><p>Explain generic terms and abbreviations used in international freight forwarding.</p><p>Evidence requirements</p><p>1.1 Explain terms and abbreviations used in international freight forwarding.</p><p>Range includes but is not limited to – draw back, customs entry, carnet, handling requirements, rate of exchange, packing declaration, BACC, CDO, DO, LFD, LC, BL, HAWB, MAWB, QD.</p><p>1.2 Explain terms and abbreviations used in sea freight operations.</p><p>Range includes but is not limited to – transhipment, voyage, detention, demurrage, de-hire, VSA, FCL, TEU, FEU, BAF, CAF, CY, CFS, DTHC, OTHC.
