<p> Capturing Kid’s Hearts Summer In-service: July 11, 2008</p><p>First Week of School Timeline</p><p>Date Activity Sept. 4 Orientation/Share 4 questions and vocabulary that will be used w/ parents (affirmation, social contract, put-ups, fouls, meeting and greeting, soler) Sept. 5 Meet and Greet/Name tags/Name Game/Decorate Bags and throughout the first week or two introduce affirmations/Model Good Things/Model time-out signal Sept. 8 Getting to know you activities/Name tags/Model Good Things/ Sharing circle/ Need to write 5 affirmations first full week Sept. 9 Getting to know you activities/Name tags/Model Good Things/**SOLER Sept. 10 Getting to know you activities/Model Good Things/Establish Group Roles/Answer Questions for the social contract in groups Sept. 11 Getting to know you activities/Model Good Things Sept. 12 Social contract completed by end of first full week/ Special areas will piggyback on classroom contracts/Students help w/ good things if ready Sept. 15 Review social contract/ Introduce additional signals (check, foul, put-ups and continue w/ time-out)/Continue Good Things/Journaling 2x’s/week/Affirmations: 5 new for this week/ Consequences developed and posted Sept. 16 CONTINUE TO IMPLEMENT ALL OF THE ABOVE AS YOU PROGRESS THROUGH THE YEAR Notes:  Universal hand signals (time-out, check, foul, put-ups)  Cafeteria staff/latchkey staff to training  Continuously review social contract/sign and laminate/share w/ special areas  EXCEL model in plan book  SOLER  Four questions will be made into posters and laminated for our use  Look into activities in Capturing Kid’s Hearts Book pages 63-end of book to do with class to get to know one another  Announce staff birthdays on announcements  Meet and greet students at bus one week/year Character Traits Using Keystone Sept.
