Jacques Whitford continues to work with municipalities to conduct Environmental Impact Assessments.</p><p>Agenda Approved</p><p>Presentation on Climate Science and Impacts by Kyle McKenzie, Environment Canada See PDF / PowerPoint presentation attached. Key excerpts: o In 2007 the IPCC Fourth Assessment Report will be released Of the three SRES Scenarios developed in the early 90s to predict our GHG emissions, over the last 15 years the world has taken the moderate scenario. o The trend line of observed data is close to the models of the temperature and precipation in a warming climate. o The Federal Government is preparing a sequel to the Canada Country Study, – with more of a focus on adaptation. o Union of Concerned Scientists (www.climatechoices.org) released a report entitled: “The Changing North East Climate” which has important information / illustrations relevant to Atlantic Canada as well. o Environment Canada is conducting statistical downscale modelling from the Global Climate Models, to determine localised changes in precipitation and temperature. They will release a free map viewer to be able to access data and maps. The map viewer will be made available at: www.ccsn.ca/index_e.html o The Sea Level Rise Project will be publishing their final report with media release on December 5th, with subsequent events on Dec 7th (Barachois) and December 13 (Cocagne), and Richibutcto/Rexton (Date TBD). o Kyle McKenzie worked on a report entitled: “Cross Border Indicators for Climate Change, available at: www.gulfofmaine.org or http://www.gulfofmaine.org/council/publications/cross-border-indicators-of-climate- change.pdf </p><p>Update on Community Based Action in New Brunswick by Eddie Oldfield, Climate Change Hub See PowerPoint presentation attached.</p><p>Presentation on Policies regarding climate change, air quality, and human health, by Barb MacKinnon, New Brunswick Lung Association</p><p>Goals and Objectives of the Hub, Eddie Oldfield See PowerPoint presentation attached.</p><p>General Discussion topics included: Activities / Continuance of the Hub Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy in New Brunswick Working with Municipalities</p><p>Kyle McKenzie brought 6 posters related to climate impacts and adaptation, giving 3,500 copies to the Climate Change Hub. Posters are available upon request.</p><p>Close 3 pm.</p>
