<p>Please use the following guidelines to contact North West CMED for patches into MidState Hospital. [Effective 6-25-15 at 1400hrs.]:</p><p>• Contact North West CMED on Med 102. Use unit ID. Ex. “Hunters 5Papa-7 to NW CMED”. Wait for an acknowledgement from North West. </p><p>• Give hospital destination, patient pickup location, and whether patch is ALS or BLS. Also advised if a physician is needed, or if patient meets STEMI or stroke alert criteria. Ex. “5Papa-7 is transporting to Midstate Hospital, our pickup location is 123 Westfield St. Middletown, requesting an ALS patch into Midstate”.</p><p>• North West CMED will ask you to stand by while they establish the patch with the ER.</p><p>• North West CMED will call your unit and assign a Med channel. Acknowledge the Med assignment. Ex. “NW to 5Papa-7, Med 82 to Midstate”, “Copied, Med 82”.</p><p>• Switch to the assigned Med channel and establish communications with the emergency department. Ex. “5Papa-7 to Midstate”, “Midstate is on, go ahead Hunters”</p><p>• Give patient patch information. Repeat back any orders given by the ER.</p><p>• Wait for an acknowledgement from the ER. Ex. “Midstate copied, no questions”</p><p>• Switch back to Med 102 and clear the channel. “5Papa-7 is clear the Med”</p><p>• Give your arrival at the ER. “5Papa-7 arrival at Midstate”</p><p>Additional information: Plain language is encouraged on all channels.</p><p>Med 102[TX: 467.9875 / RX: 462.9875 PL. 192.8] is the calling and coordination channel for the Meriden/Wallingford area. Med 82 is the patching channel for Midstate.
