Oversee UMass Permaculture Initiative (develop annual program objectives, supervise the Departmental Assistant (Permaculture Gardens Coordinator), develop strategies to promote the initiative to internal and external stakeholders). 2. Plan and implement sustainability educational events (including but not limited to: hosting dining staff field trips, overseeing development of student events, creating promotional videos, delivering class presentations, creating educational signage). 3. Develop and implement new programs, as assigned by the Sustainability Manager, to improve sustainability within UMass Auxiliary Enterprises departments. 4. Coordinate and implement Revisioning Sustainability Conference. 5. Promote UMass Auxiliary Enterprises Sustainability programs through presentations and speeches at various college, dining, and sustainability conferences across the country. 6. Collaborate with organizations, departments, and student groups on and off campus to advance visible working relationships between UMass Dining/UMass Permaculture and other groups. 7. Develop communications materials (website maintenance, brochures, publications, press releases, ads/flyers, other promotional materials). 8. Respond to general inquiries. 9. Develop and update plans to advance departmental sustainability goals. 10. Act as manager on duty if needed. 11. Perform other duties as assigned.</p><p>Note: This form must be submitted to the Personnel Administrator for every new position title in your jurisdiction, and for any substantive change in an established position. (Over) 7. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED AT HIRE (List knowledge’s, skills, abilities)</p><p>1. Knowledge of sustainability issues and best practices 2. In-depth knowledge of permaculture 3. Ability to develop and execute new programs within an academic setting; understanding of how to institutionalize new sustainability efforts; and excellent problem solving skills. 4. Excellent oral and written communication skills 5. Skill in application of the principles and practices of effective leadership and supervision 6. Excellent team-building, relationship-building, and networking skills 7. Project management and change management skills 8. Ability to build and sustain excellent working relationships. 9. Large-scale event planning experience</p><p>8. QUALIFICATIONS ACQUIRED ON JOB (list knowledge’s, skills, abilities) 1. Knowledge of the laws, rules, policies and procedures governing Auxiliary Enterprises.</p><p>9. MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS</p><p>At least 2 years FTE work experience in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Sustainable Agriculture or related field.</p><p>See qualifications required at hire in Section 7.</p><p>10.
