Filip) Assigned for next time: o Study Chapter 2 in Tien-Chien Chang et al text: Engineering Product Specification o Do Part tutorial individually to show next time (go to JD2214 common CECS lab)

Week 4: Covered: o Rapid Prototyping and Manufacturing (Lecture I. Costea) We went to the JD1128 Automation lab: - saw the new Dimensions 3D printer in action - Student (Orian) presented the RP project of last semester in MSE609 to the class, and problems encountered (the older 3D Theromojet printer was used) - The RP models in the display window in JD1128 were discussed - A new model (genre Russian Dolls created with the new 3D printer was shown and discuss – better material, still brittle – easier post- curing with the machine to melt the supports we have in JD1128) - Students in MSE488 working on the High School team robot for the First Robotics competition discussed the design of the robot Part Design with Solidworks class assignments (continued – F.
