<p> SPECIAL PROJECT SERVICES- Grants and Funding Office</p><p>1515 Hughes Way, Long Beach, California 90810 (562) 997-8456 fax (562) 997-8302 DRAFT Grant/Project Funding Guidelines  LBUSD requires that all applications for Federal, State, Foundation, and other funding, including gifts, of more than $5000 be approved by the Board of Education prior to submission of application to the funding agency.  LBUSD requires that any request to submit an application for project/grant funding support the District’s Strategic Plan, Academic and Career Success Initiative and District Mission, Vision and Shared Beliefs.  LBUSD requires that all District Instructional/Intervention programs contain a sound evaluation and assessment design and that the program evaluation information be updated, complied and shared with the Board annually for each year the funding is available.  LBUSD requires the following two forms to be approved: - Intent to Submit a Grant or Funding Request (for use when a grant writer receives notification about a grant, an initial proposal has been discussed, and there is intent to pursue it further.) - Request for Grant Approval from LBUSD Board of Education (for use when a grant writer has been approved using the aforementioned Intent form and has completed the first draft of the grant.  Do not submit any application unless you receive approval to do so by the Grants and Funding Office.</p><p>INTENT TO SUBMIT A GRANT OR FUNDING REQUEST For use when a grant writer receives notification about a grant, an initial proposal has been discussed, and there is intent to pursue it further.</p><p>1. Grant writer(s) must complete the form entitled, Intent to Submit a Grant or Funding Request. The form is available from the Grants Office or the District Website: www.lbschools.net > Click “G” in Index > Click “Grants” > Click ______</p><p>2. Grant writer(s) must receive approval from site principal(s). Principal(s) must sign approval on the Intent to Submit a Grant or Funding Request form.</p><p>3. Submit a copy of the Intent to Submit a Grant or Funding Request form for approval to the Office of Grants and Funding: James Suarez, Special Projects Services. In addition to the form, please attach the following items: -Request for Proposals (RFP) -Application of the Grant</p><p>4. A review by will be conducted by Executive Staff. Once approved, the grant writer(s) will receive authorization to pursue the proposal from the Office of Grants and Funding.</p><p>REQUEST FOR GRANT APPROVAL FROM LBUSD BOARD OF EDUCATION (Submit at least 3 weeks in advance of grant application submission) For use when the grant writer has been approved using the Intent form as described above and has completed the first draft of the grant. 1. Grant writer(s) must complete the form entitled Request for Grant Approval from LBUSD Board of Education.
